In the wings of an Italian theater and against a romantic countryside backdrop, dancers and actors poignantly enact various facets of the composer's intimate life: his unavowed homosexuality, his relationship with his wife Antonina, his strange ties to Baroness von Meck, his patron, and the persecution complex that led ultimately to his death
